Coffee Cake

Coffee Cakes are the perfect breakfast, brunch, snack, and dessert cake! With coffee or tea, these pastries are delicious and a delight to all served. I love to bring coffee cakes as a gift to a host at dinner parties I am invited to. Or I make them for a dessert and eat the rest for breakfast the next day! The dough in a coffee cake is usually a yeast dough and they taste great. The effort put into making one is well worth it. Coffee cake recipes are versatile to mix and match different ingredients to your personal liking.

Coffee cakes are perfect for baking on any occasion. Breakfast, Brunch, Dessert, a gift, or even just to fill your home with a wonderful scent of baked bread.This is by far one of the best Coffee Cakes that I have ever eaten. It is a perfect balance of cake/bread and gooey goodness. It was almost reminiscent of a cinnamon roll, the middle had to be the best part! I also ate a slice with some vanilla ice cream which made it more dessert. But feel free to enjoy this with your morning cup of coffee as well.

Delicious Rating: This is a yeast bread so it involves a little skill of working it just right but once you have it down it becomes an easy recipe to bake up. Adding too much flour could be detrimental to the bread. However I doubt this Pecan Coffee Cake could turn out bad at all. It was delicious. I used a strawberry jam but you can change it to apple, apricot, or any other berry you like. You will not want to share this once it is out of the oven but if you do your friends will be raving and want the recipe for sure!

Apple & Raisin Coffee Braid

Bread filled with apple & raisin goodness?! A warm bread with a sweet fruit center is a delicious snack anytime of the day. I made this yeast bread as an alternative to my sweet sweets. It seems a bit more healthy than a cake, right? Living in a high altitude I had to do some adjusting so that the bread doesn’t dry out when baking but it turned out very nice. My DH loved it.

Delicious Rating: ‘Home Cook’ for level of cooking. I might have to adjust it to ‘Master Chef’ though. If you have experience with yeast and bread dough than this will be very an easy recipe for you to cook up. However, if you a new and this may be your first bread recipe it may take a couple of times for the bread to turn out just right. Proofing yeast and kneading the dough to the right elasticity takes a bit of experience. When I first made cinnamon rolls years ago, I tried making them everyday. I think we feasted on rolls for at least 2 weeks before I got it right!

The bread itself is very good. The glaze adds a nice sweetness to it and the apple center really goes good with the bread. Next time I will add some cardamom to flavor the actually bread as it was missing a little something for me. Please try this recipe. It is a great coffee bread. I will definitely bake it again and serve for friends with tea or coffee.
