Fried Food

When in doubt, fry it! Fried food is a delicious way to cook something ordinary and make it delicious! Crispy and crunchy, what more could you ask for? Many are against fried food because they are usually fried in oil and fats. That fat has the tendency to stay in the batter when you eat it. Yes, fried food can be unhealthy but everything in moderation right? I love to eat fried fish, funnel cake, hush-puppies, fried chicken, tempura, fried cake doughnuts, french fries, and even a fried corn dog with mustard. Of course, not over indulging in this way of cooking.

There is no medium when it comes to fried chicken, it is either good or it is bad. The skin has to be crispy, all the way around. It cannot be overly greasy and soggy at the bottom, yuck! The chicken needs to be juicy, not dried out. And of course, the seasoning needs to be on point, like seriously the bomb.

This fried chicken is like seriously the bomb. Perfectly crispy skin all around and super juicy meat inside. The seasonings are wonderfully tasty, especially since this is a copycat KFC fried chicken recipe. So if you are a KFC lover then this chicken is for you!

Delicious Rating: I think it tastes dead on to KFC’s original fried chicken recipe, maybe just a little bit better? Okay, all jokes aside, this is some good chicken. I love crispy skin and this definitely delivered. Also, the recipe is easy and you may have all the ingredients in your house right now. So fry up some KFC chicken at home at let me know how you think it rates up to the fast food chain!

Garlic Fried Peppered Chicken

Who doesn’t love chicken, especially when it is fried in garlic and pepper? This is a  chicken dish you will love! It is fried and seasoned multiple times but is well worth the crispy garlic crust that is formed along with the juiciness packed inside. This layers of flavors chicken was served with some Boiled Cabbage and my favorite Jalapeno Bacon Macaroni & Cheese!

Delicious Rating: This may not be the healthiest chicken but it is surely good. Make sure you have everything ready and read through the recipe before starting. There are a few flips and season layers that my throw you off if you aren’t paying attention to which one you are on! My DH loved it and thought it was a delicious change up to regular fried chicken or baked chicken recipes I use.

Spam Fried Rice

Be honest. You like spam. The saltiness. The crispy pan fried edges. The mystery of what you are actually eating. Admit it. You like spam.

I like spam. Fried super crispy and served with rice. Oooh…a spam musubi. Yummy! But most of all, I love some Spam Fried Rice. I love to make this when I am just hanging out on the couch watching tv. It is the perfect ‘hanging out’ food. If you are afraid to eat spam, try this recipe first. Trust me, you will like spam.

Delicious Rating: Maybe I am being bias towards my good friend spam but I think this is the best fried rice recipe ever! It is seriously delicious and an easy recipe to cook. Use some day old rice for the perfect consistency. I add extra eggs because I think you never really get enough egg in fried rice from a restaurant. My sauce is a little more sweet than others but change up the amount of ingredients in the sauce according to your taste. And please…please tell me if you like spam!

Classic Fish & Chips

When I went to London with my Sister, the one thing that I really wanted to do was eat fish & chips in a pub. It was the ultimate tourist experience. We found a little place on the street. It was actually underground which added to the experience. Our fish & chips were the best I have ever had or maybe I was just really hungry as it was the first thing we had eaten all day! Traditional Brit Fish & Chips are served with mushy peas. Peas mushed and seasoned. Most include some baking soda for an interesting almost bitter taste. I didn’t care for them so they are excluded from my Classic Fish & Chips.

Delicious Rating: Yummy! Nothing ever goes wrong with fried food! The batter is very thick but holds up well on the fish. I used halibut and it was so nice and fluffy. The fries are delicious. Crispy on the outside and soft inside. You can change up the seasoning with whatever you would like and even cut them into wedges. You may want some experience frying food so as not to overdo cook the fish. I will definitely cook this easy recipe again!
