Jalapeno Bacon Macaroni & Cheese

Spicy, salty, gooey...yummy! Goes great with a meat entree or on its own!
Ingredients
  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 4 cups hot milk
  • 1 stick of butter
  • ½ cup flour
  • 4 cups Gruyere, grated
  • 2 cups sharp Cheddar, grated
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 jalapeno, diced
  • 12 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • Bread Crumbs
Instructions
  1. Boil pasta and drain well.
  2. Preaheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  3. Melt butter in a large pot over low heat and whisk in flour for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir constantly.
  5. Whisk in hot milk.
  6. Bring heat to high and boil mixture, whisking until thick and smooth.
  7. Remove from heat.
  8. Add in cheeses, salt, pepper, and numtmeg.
  9. Combine in the jalapeno and bacon and then add pasta.
  10. Pour into a 9x13 baking dish and top with bread crumbs.
  11. Bake for 45 minutes.
